About

Welcome to the IFRS-GP Taxonomy Modules Manager developed by the IASC Foundation XBRL Team. Its purpose is to allow the user to easily create an XBRL Schema or XBRL Instance file fitting individual requirements (e.g. selecting a language or modules of your choice).

If you have questions, remarks or feedback, contact us by sending an E-Mail to xbrl@iasb.org.uk.

Instructions

To start the IFRS-GP Taxonomy Modules Manager click on the "Start creating document" button. If you have problems with the IFRS Taxonomy Modules Manager check if you have activated JavaScript in your browser.

Instructions:
Step 1. Specify what type of starting point you wish to have created.
Select "Instance" when you want to create an instance. Otherwise select "Schema" if you want to create a Schema. An instance is a file that ends with ".xbrl" and captures reported facts. A schema is a file which ends with ".xsd" and describes the content of a report.

Step 2. Specify a Namespace for your purpose.
Normally this namespace should identify your company (e.g. "http://www.myCompany.com") and must be an URI, which is a line of characters with a special formatting. Good examples of URIs are the addresses of a websites.

Step 3. Specify the referencing to the IFRS-GP Taxonomy files.
Choose "Absolute" for the Schema or Instance file to reference the IFRS-GP taxonomy on the web. Choose "Relative" if you want to reference a copy of the IFRS-GP Taxonomy stored locally, as opposed to accessing it from the internet. The file created by the IFRS Taxonomy Modules Manager must be saved in the same directory as the IFRS-GP Taxonomy. Download the IFRS GP Taxonomy ZIP file here and unpack it to your specified folder.

Step 4. Specify your language(s) to include in Label Linkbase file(s).
If you choose a language other than the English one, you have to separately download the selected label linkbase. You can get it from the Translation Status and Downloads page of the IASC Foundation website or follow the provided link in step 4 while creating the document. Save the Label Linkbase in the same directory as the file created by the IFRS Taxonomy Modules Manager.

Step 5. Specify your required Linkbase Files by checking the checkboxes.
According to your reporting needs, place a check next to the linkbase files required in your taxonomy or instance.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
After saving the created Schema file in the same folder where all the IFRS taxonomy files are you need to import the created Schema into the tool. Please note that you should NOT OPEN the created Schema but IMPORT it into the tool. Opening the schema will result in the fact that you will be changing the IFRS presentation, calculation and different that English label linkbases instead of extending them. Importing the schema into the tool solves this issue.

After saving the created Instance file in the same folder where all the needed IFRS taxonomy files are, you can OPEN the Instance in the tool.
